12 down, 0 to go...

Scott here… just got a little down time before the whole test thing goes down on Monday for 50% of my therapeutics grade… had my LAST patient presentation of my pre-rotation career today… I really think it went well… I’d say possibly my best of the semester- MAYBE even the best of the 12 we’ve had between this and last semester! The resident who was running the show informed us that our group was the best one he’s had so far which I thought was great… we did have a really good applied class last all of last semester that I think really prepared us well… I’ve really enjoyed learning in that setting with several of my classmates- I’m always really impressed at awesome they are… in response to “what two electrolytes are effected the most by Tobramycin?” I got Potassium, but couldn’t really think of the other one, and Donna busted out the Magnesium (whammi)… and then later I pulled up and filled in a question for someone else about a liver function test… I guess it just feels good to end on a good note because my patient I had 4 weeks ago didn’t go as well as I would have liked…

There’s a song from ‘Donny Darko’ its on that new xbox commercial… its called ‘Mad World’… sounds a lot like an REM song- its by “Gary Jules”… but it’s a pretty interesting song, kind of eerie… actually- here’s a youtube thingie of the commercial- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccWrbGEFgI8 you can check out the song there if you want… (the game looks sweet too, but I don't really have an xbox- I’ll hold out for the PS3… when I get out of pharm school, that is…) you’ve probably heard it before, I know I have… but just in passing…

Whaaat else… yeah I’m studying dad, don't worry- everything is looking great this semester- its not even as scary because I don't have to pull myself out of any holes like I normally do… Aryan is in the top 5 of the class and I can make sure I’m about on the same study schedule as he is (give or take 10%...!)… that always seems to help… Lizzy is doing awesome- roaming the house freely for almost a week now and still hasn’t missed the litter box once… I just keep scooping it out and she just keeps filling it up… who knew a cat should poop so much?... it kind of makes me proud!... ok I gotta go- more studying-
