Yellow, Scott here. This will be the first of my many “blogs”. I’ve always been a big fan of diaries or journals or just keeping track of your thoughts (i.e. the creation of the Bathroom Journal). If you don’t know me, go read some other stuff on my web page (http://web.utk.edu/~sburka) because this isn't the place to get basic Scott information… this is where you will get the behind the scenes Scott stuff. So here we go.

This is my second day of being here in Knoxville by myself. I had a full 8 hours of work today in the pharmacy (KMART). I work tomorrow the same hours and then Friday around mid-day I will pack up and head to Ohio for my 4th bluecoats (drum and bugle corps) camp and the first camp that I will actually be arriving as a member… long story here… just check out some of my writings about the bluecoats and my experiences therein on my web page. It feels good to know that I am going to be able to capture my dream here, no more stressing out or thinking I might not make it or worrying about not knowing what I would do this summer without permanent Bluecoats plans. I went to walmart tonight and go some baseball gloves (what contra players use for gloves because the leather helps your hands stick to the instrument better. I also got some ankle weights which we (contra players) attach to our horns to be hard core and also to build resistance. Had a great day at work today… it just seemed to fly by. We had to do some training (computer training) for the new HIPAA – don’t ask me what it stands for- act. It’s a new federal law that basically says that your pharmacist can't really say anything out-loud that other people could hear that would link you to any type of medication or disease. It really stinks. So now instead of saying, “what can I fill for you today?” I get to say “could you please write down what you want me to fill for you today?” and then they write it down so nobody finds out what they are taking… eh well.
This morning I got up and ran two miles. It was at about 11 so it was warming up a little… it seemed really hot, but then again I was wearing a black shirt so I don’t know how much of that was due to my clothing choice. I always go a lot slower during the day. If its between like 11 and 3 or 4, my body just really fights me on the running. I think I'll get up and go at about 10 tomorrow morning so it will be cooler? Sounds good. I also need to do some more sit-ups and stuff. The bluecoats released to its members a conditioning regimen consisting of at least 120 sit-ups every day (and eventually topping off at around 240 a day) as well as running 4 days a week, pushups and a few other little things. I figure it’s a good excuse to keep doing the little things I usually do to keep myself in shape, or rather not out of shape… if that makes sense. My genes want me to be flabby. Whenever I stop doing sit-ups and pushups and such, my whole body just turns to mush… its kind of scary because I know I would be screwed if I ever hurt my back or had some injury that prevented me from doing my normal routine. I have decided that running more is something you just have to do if you want to keep your body fat down. I know I have one awesome set of abs under my “protective” layer of stomach chub because I have done the sit-up thing for years. Its just a matter of me needing to get rid of the “protection” to let them have some air. Eh well…. I’m tired and I need to go practice some more contra before I go to sleep… I have to make a tape tomorrow that I turn in this weekend. Thanks for reading… and I promise for those of you who care, that I'll definitely keep a regular amount of posting so this doesn’t go stale.
