SIENCE!
Yello... scott here.... i'm doing well... i am officially "in the pool" for pharmacy school. Let me tell you what that means:
there are 6-7 interview days
UT uses a "rolling admissions" policy that basically means... if they arnt 100% SURE about letting someone in, they put them on a list and wait to see how they stack up against people who interview at later dates. They dont wait till the very end of interview (late march), they start deciding on the pool in early march, around the 1st week. They told us that the majority of the people who went to one of the first 4 interviews would be in the pool (i was at the 3rd interview day)... make sense? This is not like a waiting list. The waiting list is the list of people that would get in if someone dropped out. So that list is formed after all spots have been filled. The pool is just for them to give everyone who doesnt stand out to them as being top-of-the-class outstanding to be compared equally... so thats where i'm at right now. I feel pretty good about it, and we'll see... wost case- i dont get in... i would have to take a year and reapply... but i'm not going to think about that yet.
Today has been good... woke up with just enough time to throw some clothes on and go to class. I knew everything we talked about in class and i answered way more questions than anyone else "what is this slide of?" me- "red blood cells"- why do they have this shape? "to maximize surface area for oxygen exchange"... what was this picture taken with? "SEM"... how was this slide prepared? "freeze-fracture"
i totally ruled everything... there was a point when i had answered so many questions that he asked the class... that the next one he asked that i knew, i stopped and looked around for anyone else who might want to answer, before i raised my hand... that was funny... heh heh.
I have oficially had my FIRST CANCELLED CLASS OF THE SEMESTER! Usually i'd have had 3 by now, especially since i'm taking 19 hours, you know? Thats how i am typing this right now... i have an hour off! Its awesome. I think mandy might be comming up on saturday night and sunday morning to see me! That is so awesome, i wasnt expecting to see her for along time, and she gets out of something she thought she had to do to come see me on saturday... that makes me happy :)
we had an an awesome valentines day- it was every bit as fun/romantic as i could have wanted it to be! We had a nice pickinick at the bicentennial mall in nashville and walked around... mandy got me a necklace (american eagle) and some shorts (also american eagle)... and everything fits and looks good... i totally didnt expect presents for valentines day from my girlfriend- i feel good about the tulips and candy i got her. They looked pretty to me and i'm just a guy.
lets seee... whaaat else... I just won a 1-liter coke product!!! I RULE! thats awesome... i'm actually a big fan of the 1-liter coke product... thats about how much i like to drink at a time. 20oz just doesnt cut it for me. I've been keeping up with my running- the last 2 times i've run were 6 miles and 6.6 miles. So thats like 10... no... 11 MILES! I might have to get back with you on that math thing there... I'm gonna go again tonight i think... after work- yeah i gotta work tonight, but thats cool- i gotta make some big bucks for the NYC trip... i'm looking forward to that- i think its going to be very relaxing- i'll need to get a new GBA game for the trip. I just hope its not going to cost an arm and a leg.. because i've only got 2 of each, and also i dont have what you might call "extra-bonus-fun-money" i mean i have some... but i dunnoo... i'm buying my food and everything... and stuff... but i am making money- and i got a big raise! I'm making a big 8.95 per hour right now- that makes my 4th raise in 2 1/2 years with the big K.. i started at 7.50... so that rules. I'm happy with how that has gone. I've gotten so much from the pharmactist and other coworkers... i remember when i first went in to the Kmart in lebanon 3 years ago- i really really didnt want to work there because 1) it was KMART! and 2) it was IN LEBANON... i hate lebanon... but it was a learning experience and i atleast got to learn how to deal with working with 3 middle-aged women who had PMS... those were some stressful stressful days... i still look back and wonder how i got through some of that without freaking out... cindy was such a jerk and i was so nice to her... i still cant get over her (you remember, josh- the girl that "explained" plannet of the apes to me using the back to the future illistration...wow)... but its ok... i actually havnt SEEN her in about a year and a half... so i dont have to deal with that... and she was getting married... so maybe she'll be occupied until that very unlucky guy decides to jump off a cliff.
whaaaat else... i've got 10 minutes... hmmm.... i got some cookies that were supposted to be 50 cents (its on the package) for 35 cents at the library book store... it wasnt a mistake either, thats their price. Some girl told me about that and i checked it out and its legit.. and they are really good cookies... and you get 2 of them... for 35 cents! also the 20oz drinks there are only 79 cents like they were for the first 3 years of college till they bumped them up 30 cents this year (that is so bogus)... and thats how i won my free 1-liter coke product... you know i'm going to foget and throw the bottle away when i'm done... you know i'm gonna do that... but its ok...
i was just reading an article on DCI.org from a bluecoat, and it was really good... but i gotta go- its class time-
SCIENCE!... SIENCE AGAIN!- hsr
