Needles

Ok so last week we took a two day intensive class about how to give shots... i am actually now certified to give shots to people... we had to complete the course by giving and recieving three shots under the supervision of a doctor who evaluated our technique... it was kinda crazy. I was parners with Ryan (he is the top guy the the pictures i put up afew days ago.. .with the blue scrubs looking confused at notes)... it didnt hurt too bad, but you could tell there was needle sticking in your arm... and i know what you are thinking... those must have been little teeny-tiny needles that dont really matter... actually you couldnt be more wrong... these were either the 1 or 1.5 inch 23 gauge needles (i.e. the bore size of the needle) for Itramuscular injection... in other words... these were the large needles that you get stuck in your deltoid every time they need to give you some form of immunization... let me see if i can find a picture or two...
ok here is one from the actual event (the picture with the girls) I dont have one with me giving or recieving the shot, but those are some of my fellow students...
just keep in mind the distance from the beginning of the needle to where it goes to the arm and know that its actually partially inserted into her arm already... it was awesome... and by awesome i mean alittle scary but overall a very eye-opening experience...
