Things are good… had a solid 3+ inches of snow in Memphis this past Friday… that was cool… made a 5’6’’ snowman with the housemates. It’s been good to get focused again with rotation instead of daydreaming. Had a great review with my last preceptor really made me feel good about myself when about 1/3 of the time I had felt like I was coming up short of her expectations- but I think that was good for me. I don’t want to be complacent. She ended it with saying “I think you’re going to be a great pharmacist and I only wish you were staying in Memphis, because I’d take my family to your pharmacy…” and that was just really nice of her. It was a great boost of confidence and so far this month has been going very smoothly off last month’s momentum. It’s hard to shine being teamed up with one of the sharpest students in our class, but I feel like so far I’ve been keeping up. I’ve got my first presentation on Monday which I’m feeling pretty good about. I’m going to San Diego this Friday and staying until Tuesday- and my preceptor has been pretty cool about it, really. She’s going to let me attend a community event on Thursday evening after rotation (from 3-7pm) in honor of this being ‘national kidney month’ and I’m really fine with that… I asked her about missing these days back in January and she could have said “no”—we don’t have any “time off” to take during these months- it’s all just at the discretion of the preceptor. Have any of you been to SD before? I’ve heard the zoo’s pretty cool… (Although I’ve heard it takes $50 to get in)- any other suggestions? I just watched an interesting video on CNN about Americans being kidnapped from San Diego and carried right across the border to Mexico and then help random… ala that Denzel Washington movie a couple years ago… I think if I wear shorts and Crocs nobody will think I’ve got any money… and actually they’d be right! Mom/Dad- if you run into JB at church, could you get his cell-phone number? I’ve got some credit/loan-related questions he might be able to help me with (in anticipation of May’s search for a new domicile).
also UT just beat South Carolina to finish the regular season 28-3. I really think at Lofton's pace he's got a good shot at passing the #2 guy on the all-time 3-pointer list... I think he's at 418 now... and with a couple SEC championship games and hopefully 3+ games in the NCAA he's got a good shot at it... and then there's JJ Redick's record of 457... interestingly enough- JJ ended his last regular season with 430 and then picked up 27 in the ACC and NCAA tourneys... the guy in #2 right now has 435.
46 days left until rotations are done... 76 until graduation
