DJ Blooo ?

Yellow… Scott here… whats up?

So I had a pretty good day today- every single person I knew was either out of town, or went to early service so I sat in this large usually filled void on the left side at church… I mean there were people on the row in front and behind me, just not anybody on my row- it really kind of makes you appreciate having people you know around- I saw some med school guys there that I play Frisbee with so that was nice… its been good to get back out there and run and jump and what not- I think I’ve been doing a pretty good job if I may say so myself (of course I’ve played ultimate more or less for the last 6.5 years so I should be OK)… it makes a difference being able to throw it left or right with the same accuracy. Last week it was really stormy and whereas there are usually at least 16-18 of us (all med-students… I’m the only pharmacy student there) there were only 6 total… I got to know them a little better because we’d sit around in a circle and talk between games and I enjoyed that. Sometimes they do get a bad wrap for being stuck up or having what others refer to as a “God complex”, but there are just as many nice/friendly/humble guys too- I’ll try to be easier on them… there was one girl there and she was on the other team and guarded me a lot and I’ve probably got about 100 lbs on her and you could really tell when we both went up for the Frisbee… I was really trying to be nice and ease off her a little due to my being much taller/wider/stronger but she was actually pretty good at catching and throwing (short distances at least) and her team was beating us by a few points and she was guarding me really tight so I had to eventually step it up and just play her like I would a dude, and man… when we both went up for it and collided- she went down hard (probably about 5 times) and I really felt bad… I told her after it was over that I was sorry but she said she’s gotten much worse and not to worry about it… she is very nice and we’ve talked some between classes- we were at a silent auction in the lobby one time and there were these “dance lessons” and she said she was interested but she just needed a guy for a partner, and yes, I realize that this was my opportunity to say “hey… I’m a guy… I could dance with you!”… but you guys don't know how deathly afraid of dancing I am for some reason… I went with Mandy (swing dancing) a couple years ago and I guess the first 15 minutes were the worst and after I got over my fear it started being ok, but I dunno… it still really scares me to tell you the truth…

Oh on another note- I got to be the DJ for the last house party we had- I just basically acquired any and every dance song from the billboard top 100 list over the past few months- put it on my ipods and went from there- I got a lot of compliments on the selection and now I’m probably going to end up being the DJ for the spring social… they’re gonna rent some big speakers and I’m gonna hook my laptop up and do it like that… seriously… isn’t that crazy? Can you guys even picture me doing that? I think its really funny that they want me to do that to be totally honest with you- but I’m up to the challenge… I think I’ll be catching up on the VH1 and MTV top 10/20 countdowns these next 2 weeks and kind of plan it out… I think I can do it- it worked out great at the last house party so I’ll just stick with what I know. I’d really like to work some “Girl Talk” from his last album in there… people seemed to like that a lot at the last party (I sneaked a couple of his songs in)… any other suggestions josh and todd? (and I’m talking like MAIN STREAM suggestions- i.e.- it probably needs to have been on the radio at some point in the last 10 years… and sorry… WOXY doesn’t count)- let me know! hollaaaaa
