The west side is the best side...

Yellow…. Scott here… I had a good time with todd at FHU… it’s a quaint little college… and the people were nice, although it seems it was small enough to still have some of those “cool people”, cliques, and whatnot that I had totally forgotten about when I got to UT because there are just way too many people at UT for anyone to be cool, or popular, or even well known. On Friday I went and watched todd do his radio show thing which was his soft-rock segment which he likes less than his rock shop… understandably. Got to meet afew people there… I also got to meet leannya and Leanne, and its funny because the spell check on Microsoft doesn’t recognize the word “leannya” because it doesn’t exist. She said her mom just made that name up for her… that’s kind of cool. Aparently Leannya and todd spend a lot of time together as friends. She has a boyfriend but he is still in high school back near Nashville… Todd explained to me that there is a heavy emphasis on guy-girl couplings at FHU and that its good that he has a female friend to hang out with because that’s how things are there. It would be nice if that’s how it was at UT. Saturday we got up and took his tire to be fixed. We also found out that he wasn’t leaking break fluid. We ate at sonic and then went to bestbuy to get some speakers for the back of his car. He decided on the 35 dollar 2-way pioneer speakers… I would have told him to go for the 3 way, but they were 75 dollars and i think that was smart to not get those because they are better… but not 210% better… which they would need to be for me to dish our 210% more money than the 2-way… we came back and ran. He runs faster than I do now… and it makes sense that he would considering what he does with the cross country team every week… I was really tired when we got done, but it felt great to get out on a country road on a sunny day and just run. I feel good now, and I attribute some of that to the running. I think everyone without prohibitory leg injuries should run. I know it sucks at first… if I quit for a few months and start back, it really stinks and I feel like crap… but you do get accustomed to it. Its good for you, and you will feel better about yourself for doing it. I think its awesome to get out and run sometimes just because WE CAN. We have been blessed with healthy bodies, and running for me is a celebration of that very fact. Invest in yourself- run… ok I’ll get off my soapbox…
Got back to MJ around 6:15, did some laundry and saw Kill Bill with scholes and dobbs… it was really good. If you don’t like blood... you should stay as far away from this movie as possible… you would probably die if you saw it. If you can handle it, though, I think you should check it out. I give it 3 ½ out of 4 stars.
I was telling todd, its weird now because movies and video games don’t hold the same sway over me they did before tour. I don’t feel like I’ve been on adventure anymore. I guess its because i’ve been on an adventure of sorts myself this past summer. I am finding little things that tell me how I have changed all the time and that’s just one of the many. Someone told me that they didn’t even really think they had changed all that much till about 3 months after they got back from tour.
I had an idea tonight about some stuff I could write. I would like to write a handful of autobiographical stories about my teenage years. I’ve thought about it, and I think I could write some pretty good stuff. I think I will wait on that till I complete my Buecoats story.
Ok I just got really tired and its time for bed. I’ll see you all in Knoxville…
