1 more exam

scott here... stuff is good... like always... i'm here in the library taking a break from physiology... its kinda cool because the last part of what we talked about in the class is mostly a review of what we did in biochem. We learned alot about insulin, glucogon... diabetes (type 1 and 2)... man it really really sucks to have diabetes... i mean... if you got it when you were about our age... you would be soo screwed by the time you were 55ish... i feel bad for all those people i give insulin and diabetes related drugs to at the pharmacy now... oh well. i actually have learned a crap load of stuff this semester... its like the first 3 years of college gave me this very large base of stuff to know, but it didnt really BUILD on itself, so it wast all that interresting... now i get into the histology, and the 2 different physiologies (plant and animal), and biochemistry... and its just really cool. i KNOW thats why i did so well on my PCAT, because of the classes i had this semester, if i hadnt had these classes, there is no telling how bad i would have done. I'm still alittle stressed about that, but i'm good... WORST CASE... i dont get into any pharmacy school, and i become a drug rep... and i dont think thats too bad, i've done alot of research on what they do, and i would definitly say that its not better than pharmacy, but its ok... the hard part is finding a job, but there ARE jobs out there... but there is really no need for me to think about that now because i havnt been rejected from any pharmacy schools... my dads friend (who is a pharmacist) when informed of my PCAT score and my GPA (which i absolutely hate...) (....man do i hate that GPA) said "he MIGHT could get into UT memphis (a top 10 pharmacy school), but if he doesnt, he can definitly get into samford or mercer... not even a problem"... and that made me feel great.. but apon thinking about it more, i'm not sure if he was totally right or not... i talked to Bob the head pharmacist at work, (who graduated from samford many years ago) and he wasnt so sure that i was a "shoe-in"... you gotta love the honesty... really... so then i got worried again... Joey at church told me a funny little story about his friend who had awesome MCAT scores but couldnt get into any medical school... so he gave up and got a job... THANKS JOEY! (and yeah he was trying to help me feel less worried...sheesh)... bleh... but you know... you know what scott burka does? he overcomes and rises to the top... i thought my track record for that was gonna be squashed by the bluecoats last winter... but i overcame adversity and got in, and by the end of the season, i was looking pretty good- skill wise (i was nominated for no less than 2 awards at banquet... the only 2 awards i could have been nominated for... ) and you know what i am gonna do about this pharmacy thing? i am gonna overcome... i got on the tennis team in highschool as a chubby #7 with alternate status... i rose to the top and got all district... THEY ALMOST CUT ME FROM THE UT BAND MY FRESHMAN YEAR!... you guessed it... i overcame... rose to the top... squad leader... i came into 10th grade at about 200lbs... got dumped by my first girlfriend... i overcame that... lost 50 lbs... improved my lifestlye... this world cant stop me from doing what i am inspired to do... i will overcome whatever gets thrown in my way... thats how it goes... bring it on.
