better yet again...

so things are getting better... my leg still hurts... and i'd say with the way i'm medicating myself (using as little as possible) i'm only in pain for about 4 hours a day... BUT... i've been running more and faster and better... and i feel better... its like... running again has given me an outlet that i knew i needed, but i didnt know how big of a difference it would make on my mood... i just feel in general- happier. Its been since May of 2005 that i was able to run before this... since then i've gained about 25 pounds and i would argue i've probably lost about 10 pounds of muscle and gained 35 pounds to be more accurate-- but net- 25 pounds... but i've managed to cut that down by about 4 pounds already since i started back running afew weeks ago... i've been doing all my pushups and situps that i did back in-- highschool and undergrad-- again... and those have helped a great deal... i think i'm on the road to, not necessairily a total and complete recovery, but atleast a life where leg pain will be my only big problem and not just one of several that came as a result of the pain itself.

tonight i pushed it hard and did 2 more sprints than usual and actually knocked another minute off my 3 mile time! it was such an awesome feeling... in a way, this will almost be sweeter than when i started running in 2002... in 2002 i weighed about 185 and i wasnt really that out of shape... i got in better shape but it wasnt a huge transformation-- now? I've got a lot of ground to make up from there (i'm about 217 at the moment....), and believe me... it WILL be a pretty big change from the person sitting here typing this right now... not just a marginal change i can promise you that...

i'd give me 3 months-- write it down! :)
