blues mix baby

I had a really good day today... rotation went great and now I'm sitting here reading some stuff for a topic discussion tomorrow and listening to some drum corps... 2 days to go. Tomorrow we have lunch sponsored by a drug company- taking the whole team out to a nice place to eat- I always wanted to eat there but never did...

our preceptor talked with the attending after rounds today about how we had been doing (we were left many days on our own to round with the ICU team without our preceptor there)- and he had some very positive things to say and that made me really happy-- Jason and I had been working pretty hard all month to build a good relationship with all the MDs and I think it's paying off... he just said we were doing a great job! sweet! Our preceptor said he was going to be at the graduation ceremony and stuff... you know what's funny? The first thing I said was "cool- you can meet my family!"...

DCI clip time--- this is my favorite ALL-TIME brass performance of any DCI group- they recieved a perfect score for this- I promise if you watch the first 5 minutes you will be completely blown away... the ensemble work is incredible and these are 2 of the best (all-time) trumpet soloists in DCI history... what I also love is that this is a stand-still at the end of the contest so they are allowed to really let the volume creep up a little more than usual... but seriously... please? 5 minutes?

please?

actually- post a comment if you watched the first 5 minutes... just so I know

update: so far we've got Dad, and aunt Eileen- which is GOOD- but I think we can do better.

update 2: hmm...

Hey Scott, band sounds really good although, got to admit, I don't know much about bands. But I DO understand that TODAY YOU FINISHED YOUR LAST CLASS (Con-Grat-u-lations!) and graduate school is something I CAN relate to. A root-a-toot for you, SCOTT!

hey there- thanks for the kind words! it does feel really good to be done... we all sat around at lunch today trying to figure out exactly at what point we changed from students to pharmacists... one argued that it wasn't until we had the diploma, while another argued that it was after we finished our requirements for graduation... which would be today! hmmm.... either way, it feels good-

a) you only emboldened "all-time." that doesnt tell me anything at first glance. you have to embolden the title or subject too.

b) the clip was good. but honestly, after hearing phantom play canon in d, well, not much else blows my skirt up.

I watched/listened to it. pretty good.

awesome- thanks for watching guys- and on the phantom comparison- it's true that phantom's canon is truely a sight to behold- I even got to hear them do it live several times... but the actual difficulty of this piece vs. phantom's there's no comparison- the ENSEMBLE playing here is what impresses me so much- with all the hits- everyone playing a short-loud hit at the same exact time- Josh, you know how hard it is to get a group to play a half-note together without anyone holding over or starting early, these are staccato eigth-notes... -not to mention the soloists- but the reason they scored so high with this one was because it was such a difficult book that was executed well-
