ehhhh!! I'm EAT'n hea!!

Our preceptor took our entire applied therapeutics class (about 10ish 1st and 2nd year students who come to the hospital once a week for about 2 hours to discuss real-world patient cases that they've worked up by coming to the hospital the day before) to dinner at a nice Italian place- we had an entire half of the restaurant to ourselves... If you've noticed I really don't like using my flash... the consequence is some blurriness and the occasional graininess, but that's how it really looked when I was there... I had a really good time- the other P4 and the resident didn't come because of other obligations so it was just me, the preceptor (guy with glasses at the far side of the table) and all the 1st and 2nd year students- and it's fun because they are very curious about what rotations are like and how jealous they are that I'm almost done... when I tell a 1st 2nd or 3rd year pharmacy student that I'm about to graduate- there has been about a 97% rate of responding something to the effect of "OH MY GOODNESS I'M SO JEALOUS- I WISH I WERE IN YOUR SHOES, I CAN'T BELIEVE I HAVE __ MANY YEAR(S) LEFT... THAT'S AMAZING"... I can tell you it's a very stark contrast with undergrad where the prevailing response was always something like "ohhh man... no more fun college time... now you have to go out in the real world and be responsible... you're going to really miss this... I'm glad I'm only a sophomore and have 2 more years before I graduate... "- of course I'm generalizing- I just think it's funny that nobody ever says "you're going to miss this when you're out being a pharmacist" or "i bet you wish you could stay and do some more of this" and I think that reflects the type of people we are... we didn't choose pharmacy because we love to study pharmacy or love the experience of being in pharmacy school; we want to practice it- I've always been like that... I think biochemistry is amazing and I love that I can say that was my undergrad degree, but at the end of the day, it was simply a means to an end- it was one of the most applicable degrees, the one that would have made me look my best for the admission committee- and that's how I roll... means to an end-

on another note- there are 5 blank spaces on my calendar between now and the day I go back to Mt Juliet... cool.

apparently I'm funny?
