I good you bid evening...
Hey… well… I’m still in Knoxville… stuff is good. Today was a little strange… I went to church, got back, took an hour nap, ate some lunch and then left for my pep-band thing and when I got there everything seemed to be fine. There were some people I hadn't talked to in forever, and they were all so glad to see me… but when I got in the band room I found out that all the baritones had been locked away… so I didn't have anything to play… so I had to go back to my stupid room! I was mad… so I sat around. I made a call to a biology professor that is writing a letter for me. After that I went to deposit a (surprisingly large) check from work and then I rented two movies (“28 days later” and “punch drunk love”) from the new movie place. Sam called me when I got back and we went to eat dinner- I got my usually 2.95 PBJ special at panera bread (hey, it comes with a fountain drink…). I got “28 days later” which was OK, but for me it was very disappointing. I thought the storyline made the characters out to be very irrational, even for people who were faced with what they had to deal with. I helped Sam move some stuff into her apartment, and then I came back and watched “punch drunk love” by myself. I was almost instantly taken in by this movie for the main reason that I could see myself in Adam Sandler’s Character’s position. It was funny to see how many little things I had in common with him. I thought the use of different musical textures in situations where it didn't seem appropriate (like when they play the super-romantic string-type music after they are walking out of the restaurant they got kicked out of)… I loved how the telephone light came on when Adam Sandler called the girl from the phone booth in Hawaii… I loved how he transformed, and I thought it was so great how he went from covering up things about himself that he thought other people would think to be strange (like the pudding)… to just telling it like it was… I like that. I’d like to think that I’ve made a move in that direction as well. After the movie i went and ran 6 miles at the track... so that makes...32.6 miles in the last 6 days... Ok well its getting late and I have a very long day tomorrow (that luckily ends in me getting to hang out with Mandy some)… so I better get some sleep.
Where’s my email/call, Jesse??
