1) those are 2 of my instructors from the bluecoats back in the day- i went to tupelo to watch them practice and i took these two guys out to wendys for some "real" food (its all relative)- on the left is Junya and on the right is Jon- we had a really fun time just going to walmart and other assorted places in tupelo while the 'coats were on their dinner break- we talked about the old days (2003) and how things have changed, and how things were still the same... and how life was in general- it made me happy to get to chill with them.
it was really just incredible to me that there are still people there who remember me, who come up and hug me and tell me they've missed me, and that the corps director stopped what he was doing and came over to say hi to me- several of the staff now are my age and marched with me- they all came over to say hi too- it was just a very nice feeling to be noticed and to be remembered- especially when i wasnt really expeting that much recognition being out of the activitiy for 3 years- it just goes to show you how quickly and intensely you get to know people when you are around them every hour of every day working your butt off for a common goal-
here is a video i took while watching practice that day
2) health fair- this was just afew days ago- i got myself up at 8:30 when i had just worked till 1am the night before-- i checked several blood pressures and talked to some people about their medications for about 2 hours before i went in for another good old 10-hour late shift at rite-aid... jennifer is on the left in the blue- i think i mentioned her before? i dunno...
it was funny being one of only 2 p3s there because when someone asks a hard question ("my cozaar has been causing weakness in my legs, is that a normal side effect?") they all just turn to me and throw the burdon of answering my way- when i'm half asleep- but i think i did a good job answering...
here is a video of the group
here is a video of me interviewing bret the president of the fraternity last year when i was VP- we worked together a lot... he has presidential hair... so sue him
3) i was driving home from mud island the other night after a nice little jog- (early last week)- and i thought the pyramid was looking nice- so i snapped a shot-wanna fight about it?
4) SOOO i love technology- and i LOVE my 19" LCD monitor i got from best buy a few months ago (its big)... DCI now lets you STREAM live shows (thats audio and video mind you- its just like being there)- this is the big San Antonio show that took place tonight (saturday)- i just watched the last 4 shows (phantom, bluecoats, cavaliers, BD)- it was awesome- the bluecoats came in 4th place and beat the cadets for the first time... EVER (ever!!)- such a great feeling when they were streaming the scores and they said "in 5th place with a score of 88.4...... THE CADETS" i literally put my hands up and said "woo hoo!!" like i was there... it was funny... but seriously... i love technology- it makes me happy
