where i'm not today

so work is fun, but i'm glad to not be there today... i think the top picture really gives a feeling for what its like SOMETIMES (looks like we're in a cage/jail), i know Terri, the pharmacist doesnt look too thrilled that i'm taking the picture there, but believe me, that IS his happy face... ha

its another one of those "well i'm not working... NOW what do i do?" kinda days... so far i've cleaned my room some (about 10% of the cleaning that NEEDS to be done to it)... and started my laundry... so since i've been cleared to use my leg again- i've been using it! its a great feeling to get outside and walk around (and by outside... i mean outside at night time when the heat doesnt make me want to pass out)- so far i've been walking/running 3 times in the last 4 days since i've been cleared to be active again-

walking 3 miles
walking 2 and running 1
walking 1.5 and running 1.5

can anyone guess how far i'm going tonight? (if you said walking 1 and running 2 you'd be absolutely correct!)... feels good to have the old leg muscles start to pack on some meat again, they were looking and feeling a little... well... little... i've always been a "wheels" (legs) man when it comes to personal fitness- i enjoy going places on foot... so you've gotta have some good quality leg muscle to make that happen...

but other than that things are great- i did a 2pm-1:30am shift at work yesterday and ron and i did a lot of talking- i am helping him with all his computer troubles... a lot of time the pharmacists just seem like they know everyting, but i've found a niche or two where i can give them helpful info (when they ask for it of course....)... i keep doing a lot of "how would i handle this situation if i were a pharmacist"... on the job... i mean just yesterday afternoon this guy comes in for a Rx for 40 lortab- and he said he wanted to pay cash (a very clear sign that someone isnt really getting the meds because they are in 'pain'), but i asked him for his insurance card anyways- and him not knowing any better turned it over (ha!)... so we used his insurance info to track down exactly where, when, and how many pain meds he had been getting- turns out just last week he get a 30 day supply of the exact same thing at the kroger across the street--- so ding!- 'no drugs for you!'- soo it was then the pharmacists job to walk out there and tell him what we had found and that we wernt filling his bogus prescription... and just the thing about that is... people around here... well... they... can get pretty angry and scary when you tell them something they dont like... i often ponder about how the 350lb african american man in front of me at the register could probably just squish me if he wanted to if i told him his insurance co-pay went from 20 to 35 dollars... i dunno... but the pharmacists handled it well (it was his second week on the job) and i took note of it... its just one of those situations that i would have to take a deep breath and try to calm myself before i went saying anything to the guy-- but anyways... good times... i have lots of other stories... but i'll just leave those for another time... i'm gonna take some more pictures so i guess expect that? Posted by Picasa
