booya

(see title)

that was an incredible game for sure on both sides of the ball- and with the way Lofton was playing, I think Tennessee is lucky to have come out on top... the effort by both teams was amazing- you would have thought with all the injuries and cramps that you were watching a football game the way those guys were putting it all out there- and dicky-V pointed out that this is why the NCAA is so great and people lose interest in the NBA... this whole thing has been great for Memphis. This city has just been buzzing the last week- you could just feel the energy- everywhere you go people were asking me if i was going to game- if i had tickets- who i was rooting for- taco bell, at the grocery store, home depot, it didn't matter if you were a UT fan or a Memphis fan- you were excited about this game- i think there will probably be some people who will read this and be skeptical- but i promise you those people were not in Memphis this past week or they'd know- this has been huge for the city of memphis- i wish i had recorded some of the evening news from this week- 95% of everything was somehow related to the game- they were interviewing people on the streets... what was the weather going to be like for the game? security? parking?- I even got calls from several of my sports-attentive friends asking me if i had tickets and if i was going and just wanted to talk about it- it was good to hear from Scholes-

we had a house full of people here tonight... some in orange, some in blue, and some just wanted to be a part of this historic game and didn't have leanings either way- it was just a good time- and what a great national exposure for the state of Tennessee. And I think it'd be awesome to meet again in the NCAA tourney-

and for UT:
first ever national #1 ranking
ended the longest regular-season win streak: 41
ended the longest home win streak: 47
first #2 team to beat a #1 on the road in 17 years

and you gotta love that Dicky-V elvis costume before the game... that was cool
