A-game

so the 4 of us first-round bloggers (though I know Todd beat is all by several months) are really keeping up everything- I've really enjoyed each of your blogs- great photography and a good mix of personal style be that a critique of art/life or just letting everyone know what's going on- Its great to keep up with all of you through your writing and great to feel like somebody's listening to me too... I don't know what about the new year made me get back on the ball- I think being in Kingsport forced me to reach out (and IN) more than I had in the year before... maybe its all this anticipation that's just oozing out of me... its easier to wait when I kinda "Get it out"...

and this Vandy-UT game going on right now is pretty awesome too- I've got it paused so when the second half starts i can fast-forward though all the commercials and stuff... i love doing that...

Lastly- Josh and Jesse- I know it's pointless to say "hey I really want to show you something" when there's really no way I could show you until I'm actually present- but I just want you to be aware that there's something really cool coming... I was flipping through the channels last week- Landed on PBS and it was a "Great Performances" intro... just wanted to see what it was- turns out it was a little play by Steven Sondheim (of west-side story)... "Company" was the name of it... and after about the first 30 seconds I realized that I loved it... you know how for music sometimes there's a song that you IMMEDIATELY love- first listen- and then there's songs that sound OK but take 2, 3, 4, 5 listens before you realize that you like them a lot?... this was like the first scenario... obviously anyone who knows me knows that I'm not somebody who goes around talking about Broadway musicals, I'd say I probably even know less than your average Joe about Broadway... but I've seen a few things I liked... and this was really something special- I don't want to ruin it- but I just want you to know that when I come home- I'd really like to sit you guys down and let you check it out- i think its got parts that both of you will really connect with and really be able to appreciate (recorded it on my DVR- it was a little over 2 hours long)- just wait for it.-- I actually didn't realize it when I first watched it, but this came out in 1971 and they've just brought it back for a revival... they just kept the script the same and had everybody wear regular/2007 clothing and there's nothing about the story that dates it... I guess I was just very glad that I stopped on PBS that night. (and I think you will be too...)

actually there aren't any good shots of this performance online... here's a few from the phone-cam (not great quality... but it wouldn't be much better with the real camera)
