i highly recommend the following video to any of you who are following or have followed my DCI suggested viewings/listenings... its a 10 minute highlight video from the finals DVD of 2007 that came out a month ago or so... things of note: this was the largest single crowd to ever witness a DCI event- it was at the rose bowl- so thats sweet... some really awesome moments in there and some of my favorite from each of the corps- actually there are clips from all 12 finalist corps- so it spreads it out- josh- note how loud the cadets are. Word on the inside is that they actually used some form of decibel-machine and they trained with that all year and really used it to push their volume... i can vouch for that with the encore performance and the ringing in my ears- the thing is they actually only march a 64 member hornline- which 5 or 6 years ago was standard (10 contras 20 baris 12 mellos 22 trumpets)... but more recently, more than half of the groups have switched to 72 or even 76 member hornlines (phantom, cavies, crown, blue knights, madison, spirit, SCV)... and the kicker is this: they just voted last winter for the 2008 season to expand the max membership from 135 to 150... just imagine what 15 more people on the field is going to do for the sound... i'm pretty pumped to find out. woot!
