just saw "there will be blood" starring daniel day lewis who has already won a golden globe for "best actor" for it... i gotta say it was really intense and i can at least partially see why it wasn't first immediately widely released- i mean- it wasn't really that "bloody" per se'... it was just really intense... as with lots of these movies that are said to be "the best" each year, you don't walk out feeling great- its like you think "that was really well done/acted" but not necessarily "that made me feel good"... and no doubt they weren't trying to make you feel good about anything... but it was good... i think for me the first 15 minutes were the most interesting for me, personally. The score was very original- very tense/mechanical/dissonant- josh/jesse/todd- you know what to do. (or maybe you already have?)

done seen it. while back.
I thought it was good and obviously based on some classic(ish) novel. Upton Sinclair even! However, I can't judge it in comparison to the other Oscar noms that I haven't yet seen: Michael Clayton, No Country and Atonement.
