Hey, I never said UT wasn't good and they didn't have a tough schedule. Tennessee has 3 good college teams this year. I thought about that while Vandy beat Kentucky by 40 points...wait...didn't Kentucky beat another Tennessee team earlier in the year? Huh...
C'mon - UT is always a contender during football season while Memphis is lucky to get to a bowl game, any bowl game. You have to give me something during basketball season!
oh for sure- I'm not trying to take anything from your team- I think memphis is awesome- they HAVE had quality wins and they're undefeated. They deserve to be #1 for that. UT doesn't deserve to be any higher than #4- each of the 3 teams ranked above UT really deserve to be in my book.
I like the RPI because if you look at the calculation, it truly is totally objective. Unlike the BCS (which, like you, I'm not a big fan of) there are no POLLS that factor into it- ever since Pearl came to UT we've actually always done really well in the RPI I think mainly because he books 1 or 2 tougher games towards the beginning of the season- and 75% of the RPI calculation involves the the winning percentage of the teams you play and the winning percentage of the teams they play-
however- no one mathematical equation could truely be said to completely take into account all factors... so i yield to the coaches and ESPN/USA today as the authoritative polls-
but imagine if your team was #4 in the Coach's poll but #1 in the RPI?
i guess we'll just settle this on the 23rd!! :)
Yes - that will be a great game. I'm hoping either Memphis or Tennessee (or maybe both) can make it to the championship game. I really like what Bruce Pearl has done with that team.
In other news, I talked to your parents the other day and they said your graduation was at the Pyramid? Are you graduating in the "Tomb of Doom"? That would be awesome.
ACTUALLY its at the FedEx forum! hope they don't end up at the wrong place come may 30th!
